Weighing In

Carter had his first Dr visit last week. At one week he had already gained 7 oz since we left the hospital . The Dr checked him out and was pleased with his weight gain. He was jaundice when we left the hospital but that has cleared up. We will go back in several weeks for another growth appointment.

Brotherly Love

Cody is absolutely fascinated with his new baby brother. He is VERY helpful and loves to hold him any chance he gets. They seem to have bonded already.

We were released from the hospital on Friday. Our family suprised us with a stork in the front yard. When Cody arrived home he ran up to the stork and said, " Daddy look a duck!"

The Man of the Hour

Carter Logan Williams

Family Time

There is nothing in the world more precious than family time. Cody was very excited to meet his new brother. Cody loves and adores Carter like they have been best friends for a long time. We could not have asked for this transition to go any smoother. Cody is doing a great job with his role as the " BIG BROTHER".

Visitors

Carter's Birthday!!!!

After 9 hours of labor but no progression we decided that a C-section was the safest route to go to get our little boy here! The OB doctor got everyone lined up and we head to the operating room. On Monday, September 4, 2007 at 10:30 am Carter Logan Williams was born! He weighed 6 pounds
8oz and was 19 inches long.

Triage

We arrived at CMC Pineville Maternity Center and got checked in. They sent us down to triage to have a nurse check Jenny. The nurse confirmed that indeed her water had broken and that we would not be sent home. The doctor did an ultrasound and confirmed the babies size and that he was not breech. We were then assigned to a room where they would monitor Jenny and the baby during labor.

Labor Day

We enjoyed our Labor Day holiday by cooking out and spending time with family. Jennifer had minor contractions throughout the day but nothing to get excited about. After following our normal nightly routine of story time and getting ready for work we settled in for a good nights rest. Little did we know that Carter had other plans for us.

I had just dosed off when I was awakened by Jennifer calling my name. It startled me and I said to her " Don't yell my name out like that I thought your water broke". Jennifer replied, "I think it did"! That is when I jumped into action loading the car and gathering our last minute items while Jennifer called her doctors office. I then notified both sets of parents and called Uncle Cameron to come stay with Cody while we went to the hospital.
